LOS ALAMOS, N.M. — Tylerr Jones, an EMT, registered nurse and City of Santa Fe fire inspector, is one of two Los Alamos medical professionals going to Ukraine this week with the Humanitarian Aid & Rescue Project, according to the Los Alamos Reporter.
Chris Hammond, an emergency room physician, will be joining Jones.
According to its website, HARP “provides immediate support to those most vulnerable in high-impact areas experiencing disaster, war, and conflict both foreign and domestic. HARP specializes in Search and Rescue (SAR), Combat Search and Rescue (CSAR), Exfiltration, Swift Water Rescue, Combat Medical and Logistics.”
“The people we are going to help have no water, no food, no medical supplies. Many of them are women and children. They are trapped and have nothing. They are badly injured and we will be providing frontline medical attention and trying to get them out of there as soon as possible. The money people in the community here donate to HARP is a lifeline for those people,” Jones said.
