PLUM, Pa. — A man who cut himself with a chainsaw while working in a tree at a home in Monroeville has died.
Steven Evans, 47, of Plum died Thursday night in Allegheny General Hospital in the North Side, a spokesman with the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office said.
Evans was about 25 feet up in a tree doing landscaping work at the home on Marywood Drive when he cut his leg with the chainsaw on Oct. 28, Monroeville police said. He was unconscious and bleeding heavily when emergency responders arrived. They used Evans’ ladder to climb into the tree and pull him out of his safety harness, police said.
