GREECE, N.Y. — A 911 operator faces child pornography charges allegedly involving a 12-year-old girl.
Jason Cortese, 33, has been suspended from his position after being arrested at the 911 call center, Time Warner Cable News reports.
He is accused of attempted production of child pornography, enticement of a minor, and distribution and possession of child pornography. Federal prosecutors said in court that Cortese admitted in a videotaped interview with investigators that he had sexual conversation with the 12-year-old in question.
Investigators said they found nude photos and many sexually explicit messages from Cortese on the girl’s phone. They also found images of child pornography that Cortese sent to her.
Family members at one point confronted Cortese about his involvement with the girl, and contacted police. Cortese maintains he never had physical contact with the girl.
Cortese’s arrest also led to the arrest of Megan McDonald, 35, who was charged with production, distribution and possession of naked pictures showing a 4-year-old girl and a 1-year-old boy, New York Daily News reports.
Cortese and McDonald are suspected of electronically sharing child pornography images.
