SYRACUSE, Utah — A candidate for Davis County sheriff totaled a paramedic vehicle after hitting two cows early Friday morning. Davis County Sgt. Todd Richardson was patrolling the area of 1800 W. 3700 South at 1:30 a.m. Friday when he hit two cows, said Syracuse Police Lt. Tracy Jensen.

The cows had wandered from a nearby field after another vehicle hit a fence, knocking it down.

“There are no street lights on West Gentile,” Jensen said of 3700 South.
