KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A paramedic who drove an ambulance into the back of a Tennessee Department of Transportation help truck in October had some sort of medical crisis right before the fatal wreck.

The accident killed Rural/Metro ambulance driver, David Cline, and his 78-year-old passenger Sue Bly.

Police investigators say the exact cause of the wreck is unknown but Cline suffered from narcolepsy and epilepsy. He was sending text messages before the crash but investigators do not think Cline was texting at the moment of impact because the phone was found on his body not among the debris scattered around the wreck site.
