STERLING, Mass. — A paramedic was suspended after allegedly making a racist comment on Facebook.
Telegram.com reported that paramedic Linda Kimball allegedly used racist language while insulting members of the New England Patriots for kneeling during the National Anthem before their game on Sept. 24.
Sterling Fire Chief David Hurlburt said the incident is currently under investigation and that Kimball’s employment in the future will depend on the conclusion of the investigation.
“It is important to note that the members of the Sterling Fire Department do not share the views expressed by Paramedic Kimball’s posts and will continue to serve our customers with respect and professionalism,” Chief Hurlburt said.
An investigation is also being conducted regarding Kimball’s husband, firefighter-medic Mark Kimball. Officials said Mark strongly defended his wife on social media.
