PHILADELPHIA — Surveillance video shows a shooting aboard a Philadelphia elevated train that police say was sparked by a dispute over the 76ers’ loss to the Chicago Bulls.
Lt. John Walker said a Bulls fan quarreled with two young men before being shot in the abdomen Wednesday night. A second man who tried to calm things down was shot in the leg. Both victims were taken to a hospital and are expected to survive.
The confrontation on the Market-Frankford line in west Philadelphia was caught on video and shows the two young men leaving the train and one of them turning around and shooting through the open doors.
The faces of the suspects are clearly shown. People on the platform scatter after the shooter fires his handgun.
Police released the video and asked for help in identifying the suspects.
