Bus, train collision leaves 40 injured in LA

Buses were sent to location to provide transportation for passengers affected by accident

LOS ANGELES — A Metro train and a bus collided on Monday morning south of downtown Los Angeles, leaving some 40 passengers injured, local authorities said.

The collision of the Metro Blue Line train and the Metro bus happened at around 7 a.m. local time (1400 GMT), the Los Angeles Fire Department said. None of the injuries were serious or life-threatening.

The cause of the crash was still under investigation.

About three dozen of the injured people were on the bus and eight were on the train when the accident occurred.

Buses have been sent to the location to provide transportation for passengers affected by the accident, local authorities announced.
