CONNELLSVILLE, Pa. — On the afternoon of Feb. 9, Jason Hayes heard an emergency call that hit close to home.
Hayes, assistant chief for Fayette EMS, responded to the home of Rick Adobato — not only his boss but also his close friend.
“I was responding to my chief’s house but also I was responding to one of my best friends — he’s gotten me through the EMS system,” Hayes said. “It was definitely scary, but at that point, training kicks in. You go to work and do what you have to do.”
