AUSTIN — Two Austin police officers were injured in a minor scuffle in Southeast Austin earlier this evening, according to public-safety officials.

Police and Austin-County EMS responded to a 6:12 p.m. call for assistance for an overdose at a residence on the 1100 block of South Pleasant Valley Road, EMS Captain Darren Noak said.

It is unclear how the scuffle started, but the two police officers were taken to University Medical Center-Brackenridge with minor injuries, officials said. They were treated and they should be released from the hospital shortly, police Lt. Christine Chomout said.

Another man was also transported to Brackenridge with non-life-threatening injuries.

The incident is still under police investigation.
