ImageTrend displays EMS & EHR interoperability at HIMSS Showcase

LAKEVILLE, Minn. – ImageTrend, LLC., a leading provider of software solutions and services for EMS and hospitals, demonstrated its interoperability capabilities with Epic at the HIMSS Interoperability Showcase, exemplifying the company’s ability to exchange information with healthcare networks. The demonstration focused on substantially reducing door to treatment times with prehospital registration and alerting of incoming patients made possible with ImageTrend Elite™ and ImageTrend Health Information Hub™ (HIH), as shown in this short video.

The combination of Elite and HIH make it easy to document stroke alerts and communicate with receiving hospitals, as well as receiving outcomes automatically for patients after they are discharged through the hospital’s electronic health record (EHR) system. ImageTrend has been at the forefront of healthcare interoperability efforts, having previously integrated with various EMS and hospital EHR systems. With a commitment to improving patient care and outcomes, ImageTrend closed the loop allowing every encounter documented in Elite to follow the patient throughout their healthcare journey.

“I have been consistently impressed with ImageTrend’s dedication to advancing EMS interoperability,” said Christina Carabello, MBA, President, IHE USA and Vice President Informatics, HIMSS. “Their technical acumen and leadership have been on full display this year at events like the IHE North American Connectathon and HIMSS Interoperability Showcase, where ImageTrend demonstrated their ability to provide stakeholders with standards-based tools they need to communicate seamlessly during emergencies.”

Doug Butler, Jr., ImageTrend’s Director of Strategic Development, spoke about the importance of interoperability and ImageTrend’s dedication to connecting critical sources of data for better patient outcomes. “At ImageTrend, we believe that interoperability is the key to unlocking the full potential of healthcare technology. By seamlessly connecting EMS and hospital systems, we can ultimately enhance patient outcomes.”

Through its interoperability capabilities, Elite allows healthcare providers to streamline their workflows, reduce documentation errors and support a higher level of care. By demonstrating this connection with enterprise EHR systems such as Epic, ImageTrend is further advancing its commitment to interoperability, resulting in time savings that are critical to the highest quality of care.
