POINT PLEASANT BEACH, N.J. — The Coast Guard has identified three fishermen who are missing after their boat sank in rough seas off southern New Jersey.

Forty-nine-year-old Kenneth Rose Jr. is captain of the Sea Tractor. His 75-year-old father, Kenneth Sr., and 55-year-old Larry Forrest also were aboard when the boat sank about 20 miles east of Cape May on Wednesday night.

The Coast Guard has recovered an empty life raft.

Coast Guard helicopters and boats are continuing a search. Seas are 10 to 15 feet in the area and winds are over 30 to 50 mph. Visibility is 2 to 3 miles.

Commercial fishermen in Point Pleasant Beach say the boat occasionally sold its catch there. They say the boat was based in North Carolina and usually fished out of Cape May.
