Nashua, NH – (May 13, 2013) – Ping4 Inc., the company behind ping4alerts!, has appointed Mark T. Sexton their new Vice President of Engineering. Ping4alerts! is the free Hyperlocal Mobile Alert app that instantly notifies users of dangers and emergencies by sending an alert to user’s smartphones.

Mr. Sexton, who previously held the position of Development Manager of Data Services at Acme Packet in Bedford MA, describes his focus as “carrier class, high performance, highly scalable software systems.” This graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology will manage the engineering team, set priorities and work with sales and marketing to determine the future needs of the company’s flagship product, ping4alerts!.
During his tenure with Acme Packet, Mr. Sexton was the architect for a new reporting data warehouse designed to collect historical information from 500 Acme Packet devices. The reporting schema and reporting views were dynamically created based on meta-data.
Mr. Sexton earned his B.S. in Computer Science from M.I.T. in 1990 and went on to graduate studies at the Air Force Institute of Technology. He served as a Signal Corps Officer for the US Army before transitioning into the civilian workforce in 1995, when he began work for Sanders, A Lockheed Martin Company in Hudson, New Hampshire as a software engineer.
From Sanders, Mr. Sexton moved to Ellacoya Networks/Arbor Networks, where he worked to develop a patented system for managing content resources “for dynamically generating a web portal to allow users to configure and control their ISP content. The system calls for integration between the portal, a control engine, a network element and a billing system.” Then he moved to Phase Forward/Oracle in Waltham, MA.
Mr. Sexton commented: “I am very excited to be joining a growing and dynamic company. Ping4 Inc. is on the cusp of something big. A resident of Merrimack, New Hampshire, Mr. Sexton is married with three sons and spends most of his free time biking and attending his sons’ sporting events.
