Special Events Planned Throughout the Conference
SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The 25th Annual EMS Today Conference and Exposition will feature a look into the future of EMS, as well as a retrospective glance at the last 25 years. The conference, to be held in Baltimore, Maryland, March 6-10, 2007, will offer special events and displays to remind EMS professionals of where the industry has been, and where it is headed. The event is produced by Elsevier Public Safety in partnership with the IAFC, and managed by Reed Exhibitions.
Conference Continues Its Lead in Education
The 2007 EMS Today Conference & Exposition offers high-quality sessions and preconference workshops, opportunities for ride-alongs and facility tours, peer networking and an exciting exhibit hall – all of the features that have made it such a success over the last 25 years. There are 7 educational tracks, including the popular AAA Advanced EMS Leadership created in partnership between the American Ambulance Association and JEMS, as well as a new track entitled “Report from the Eagles,” featuring some of the nation’s most influential medical directors.
Appreciation Night at the Aquarium
EMS Appreciation Night will be held on Thursday, March 8 at the National Aquarium in Baltimore to thank attendees for their commitment to prehospital care over the past 25 years. The Aquarium, featuring striking exhibits, will prove to be the perfect setting for hundreds of EMS colleagues from around the nation and the world to enjoy a buffet dinner and entertainment.
25th Anniversary Events Commemorating Milestone
In addition to the celebration at the Aquarium, a variety of events have been planned to further commemorate the anniversary of the conference, including a monthly raffle with a $250 Visa gift card prize. On Friday March 9, a 25th anniversary cake cutting ceremony will open the Exhibit Hall and each conference registrant will receive a commemorative lapel pin marking the anniversary. Displays in various locations throughout the convention center will showcase the past 25 years of EMS through ad pages and editorial features published in the Journal of Emergency Medical Services (JEMS.)
JEMS Games Goes Retro
As a special bonus during the JEMS Games Final Competition on Friday March 9, EMS educators Walt Stoy and Baxter Larmon will perform the competition scenario with equipment and practices used in 1982. The “retro” version of the scenario will offer an interesting look into what EMTs worked with back then, and how far practices and equipment have changed and progressed.
