OSHKOSH, WI.-- Continental Girbau has unveiled the new M-Series hard-mount line of washer-extractors, available in 25-, 40- and 55-pound capacities. The new M-Series Washers deliver improved energy-efficiency and higher G-force extract speeds than many hard-mount washers on the market, according to Joel Jorgensen, vice president of sales and customer services at Continental.
“M-Series Washers are built using the same manufacturing platform as our high-performance E-Series Washers,” said Jorgensen. “They share many of the same components including the control systems–resulting in a higher performance hard-mount washer with unrivaled energy-efficiency. This will save on-premise laundries gas, water and electricity. Superior programmability means laundries can properly clean a variety of fabrics including silk, NOMEX™, GORTEX™, suede, wool, linen and denim.”
The M-Series hard-mount washer is also designed to occupy less space than other hard mounts on the market, allowing for a greater number of machines in a given area. The 25-pound capacity model occupies 25 percent less space than most other comparable hard-mount washers, according to Jorgensen. Similarly, the footprint of the 40-pound model is 20 percent smaller than most other hard mounts with similar basket capacity; and the 55-pound M-Series is five percent smaller than the typical 50-pound capacity machine.
Not only do they take up less room, M-Series Washers are programmable to reach standard maximum extract speeds between 108 and 141 G-force. By comparison, many other hard-mount washers on the market only produce 75 to 90 G-force extract, according to Jorgensen. “With higher extract speeds, laundry can be processed more quickly–saving time and labor,” he said.
The highly flexible Logic (Logi) Control offers superior programmability. There are eight individually modifiable programs—each with up to nine baths including multiple pre-wash, wash and rinse cycles. Variables within each bath—including wash temperature, water levels, cycle times, rotation and G-force extract speeds—can be individually programmed for maximum efficiency given the load type. M-Series Washers offers automatic chemical injection via four external chemical injection signals—ensuring a consistent clean with every wash and eliminating fabric damage by chemical overuse.
M-Series boasts additional features geared toward providing optimum temperature and dosing management for the best fabric care. Chemicals are always diluted in a collector and introduced into the load below water level to avoid direct contact with the linen. And, the exclusive AquaMixer™ system combines hot and cold water to obtain very precise bath temperatures –minimizing hot water consumption while maximizing chemical effectiveness.M-Series is also engineered to use less water than most hard-mounts on the market, thanks to exclusive features and a sump-less design. M-Series are designed without a sump, a water containment area at the base of the washer. This saves up to three gallons of water with each fill when compared to machines with an outer tub sump. As such, M-Series reduces water usage and water heating costs. M-Series also feature AquaFall™, an exclusive system that releases water into the drum through holes in the drum lifters. This enables superior load saturation, chemical penetration and rinsing.
