DALLAS — LanguageMAPS, creator of the 1st Minute App and leader in simplified language translation for emergencies, is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Patti C. Huang and Dr. Tyler DeLange as new members of its medical advisory board.
Dr. Patti Huang
Dr. Huang runs Frisco Family ENT in North Texas and has won “Best Doctor” awards from D Magazine since 2012. She is also the creator of a medical translations app, which takes the most common medical words, phrases, and questions, and translates them for use in clinical settings. In her advisory role with LanguageMAPS, she’ll be assisting with product development and corporate partnerships in public safety, healthcare, and travel markets.
Dr. Huang comments, “LanguageMAPS opens the door to expanding the impact of solving the language barrier in healthcare on a global basis. I look forward to bringing my clinical experience to assist in technology development and advocacy for patients and travelers who don’t want to be lost in translation during a medical emergency.”
Dr. Tyler DeLange
Tyler DeLange, MD is an emergency medicine physician at Utah Emergency Physicians. He completed his residency at Johns Hopkins and is the founder of two humanitarian organizations having led missions to the countries of Ghana, Kenya, Peru, Guyana, Guatemala, Bolivia, and Nepal. Additionally, he created a centralized training program for rural health workers, empowering them to function as physician assistants in medically underserved regions. Dr. DeLange will assist the LanguageMAPS in developing multilingual patient intake forms, adhering to emergency triage protocols, and with marketing.
