NORFOLK, Mass. — It’s called CPAP, but for one local woman Friday, it was a quick way to get life-saving oxygen into her lungs.
It was the first time CPAP, or Continuous Positive Airway Pressure, was used by Norfolk firefighter/paramedics — and just one day after it was put into service, firefighter/paramedic Richard Yunker said.
While other communities in the area have the specially designed oxygen masks — including Mansfield and North Attleboro — Norfolk and Sharon fire departments are the first to use it in their region, he said.
