TWINSBURG, Ohio — A new scam has arrived, according to the Summit County prosecutor’s office.
A person claiming to be from an ambulance service calls residents saying they owe money for ambulance transports. The caller asks for Social Security numbers.
A recent recipient of such a call said she didn’t use an ambulance, but the caller wanted her Social Security number anyway. When she asked him to read it to her, the scammer said he didn’t have it on hand but needed it to look into the problem.
