DENVER — A woman died Sunday afternoon when she jumped from an ambulance onto the highway while she was being transported to a hospital.
Greenwood Village police received a call around 2:30 p.m. that a person had fallen out of an ambulance on northbound Interstate 25 at East Orchard Road.
Police arrived and closed the highway for more than two hours Sunday. The 36-year-old victim was not named by police.
Investigators said they have determined that the woman jumped out on her own and did not fall out.
She was not hit by any other vehicles and was transported to Swedish Medical Center, where she died.
