ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Toronto Blue Jays pitcher J.A. Happ has been hospitalized after he was struck in the head and left bloodied by a line drive hit right back at him.

The frightening scene occurred in the top of the second inning, when Happ threw a 91-mile-per-hour fastball to Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Desmond Jennings.

Jennings blasted the pitch right back at Happ, hitting the 30-year-old in the side of the head.
