O’FALLON, Mo. — A Missouri couple is in trouble with police for calling 911 after their dog collapsed.
Rose and Randy Lakey said they felt like they didn’t have any choice but to call for help when their dog, a 140-pound Great Dane named Oreo, collapsed on Easter Sunday.
In an interview with TV station KTVI, the Lakeys said their 4-year-old dog fell limp against a wall and was unresponsive. They called 911, and an ambulance crew and police arrived within minutes. Rose Lakey said one of the ambulance workers made it clear there was a problem.
