PROVIDENCE, R.I. — The Rhode Island Department of Health or (RIDOH) is investigating an Emergency Medical Technician or (EMT), accused of illegally practicing and purchasing medicine and medical supplies.

Health officials confirmed Monday that they received information Joseph Tedeschi purchased several different types of drugs, without the proper authorization, on a number of different dates. The drugs included muscle relaxants, anti-inflammation pills, and pain relievers, according to health officials.

Tedeschi, an EMT in South Kingstown and Charlestown, is also accused of administering drugs to a person. Health officials said he injected the anti-inflammatory Toradol on at least one occasion. Those duties are not related to his work as an EMT, according to the Department of Health.
