ESCONDIDO, Calif. — An emergency room technician and a police officer saved a suicidal patient on Sunday, grabbing the man’s arm just after he’d thrown himself off a five-story drop.
Technician Chad Brabander was trying to persuade the jumper to come down from an internal stairwell between the fifth and sixth floors, according to NC Times.
The patient jumped anyway.
Brabander caught the man’s wrist in midair as he fell. Officer Ray Solorio was in the stairwell one floor underneath the man and grabbed his belt to pull the jumper back over the railing to safety.
The man was taken into protective custody.
