ALLEGHENY COUNTY, Pa. — A veteran EMT was recently honored for his four decades of service.
TribLive.com reported that Tim Butler has been a member of McCandless-Franklin Park Ambulance Authority since it was created in 1977. He started out as a volunteer and was one of the first graduates of Pasavant Hospital’s paramedic certification program.
Butler became an EMS supervisor in 1981 before being promoted to assistant director in 1988. He was appointed deputy director in 2004.
Butler received an Outstanding Board Member Service Award for the second time from the Allegheny County EMS Council. He is the only person to receive the award twice.
