SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — Christopher Meadows, a Sheriff’s Department search-and-rescue team member who died in an all-terrain vehicle incident at the Oceano Dunes two years ago while responding to a call, will have a patrol/rescue boat named after him.
The Board of Supervisors is scheduled to honor Meadows with a resolution Tuesday.
“There is a long-standing tradition in the law enforcement marine community of naming vessels after dedicated employees who have made the ultimate sacrifice,” Sheriff Ian Parkinson wrote in a report to supervisors.
