Synthetic drugs suspected in WV EMT assaults

In the last month, Cabell County EMTs have been attacked four times by overdose patients

CABELL COUNTY, W.Va. — Synthetic drugs could be leading to EMTs in the area being bitten, punched, and even having their hair pulled by overdose patients.

EMTs in Cabell County are on high alert because of drugs like bath salts, and its cousins flakka and gravel.

“They’ve hit them, bit, pulled their hair, just anything they can do,” said Cabell County EMS Director, Gordon Merry.
