NASHVILLE, Tenn. — A Nashville paramedic has been arrested for allegedly killing his wife and his father-in-law in January.

Matthew Konen, a paramedic with the Nashville Fire Department, was arrested this week on two counts of first-degree murder, according to WTVF. He is accused of killing his wife Rachel Konen and her father David Rodgers in Clarksville on Jan. 20.

The Nashville Fire Department released a statement saying Konen was re-assigned “to an alternate duty assignment where he was not working with the public nor responding to incidents during the ongoing investigation,” according to News 4 Nashville. The department said it would not comment further in order to avoid hampering possible future disciplinary procedures.

Konen is being held at the Montgomery County Jail on a $950,000 bond.
