HOUSTON — A Spence Elementary School student likely will be disciplined after pepper-spraying about 15 students Tuesday on a school bus, according to officials with the Aldine Independent School District.
The students were exposed to the pepper spray around 3:30 p.m. near Davis High School, suffering minor irritation of the eyes and nose, said district spokesman Mike Keeney. The bus was full at the time with about 50 passengers, he said.
The bus pulled over for assistance at the high school. Paramedics were called as campus police tended to the students, he said.
Spence Elementary administration was notified of the situation, and they called the parents of the exposed students.
Keeney said he didn’t know whether the incident was accidental. The student with the pepper spray has been identified by the district. He will be disciplined “by the code of conduct,” he said.
