MEDFORD, Mass. — Two paramedics and a state trooper reunited with a baby they helped deliver on the side of the road when the new parents came to thank the responders for their help.
Boston.com reported that Trooper Karl Johnson responded when Yishu Wang went into labor as her husband Bo was driving her to a hospital.
Johnson helped deliver baby Alyssa, and paramedics Sean Byron and Cristine Janiak arrived shortly after to take over her care and transport her to the hospital.
The responders were able to reunite with baby Alyssa when the Wangs brought her to the state police station to say “thank you” for their help.
“Alyssa and her mom are doing fantastic, and Yishu reported that she became something of a celebrity at the hospital as word spread about the details of Alyssa’s roadside birth,” a Facebook post about the reunion said. “The best gift of all, however, was ... to get to hold the little girl they brought into the world that memorable morning.”
