BERWYN, Pa. — Twin girls who were born 15 years ago after their mother began to deliver at home, reunited with the first responders who saved their lives.
The Berwyn Fire Company posted about the special visit on its Facebook page, explaining that the Copeland Family twins were born after a dangerous double breech pregnancy. Both girls were at risk of not surviving, but first responders ensured a successful birth for the girls.
Among the first responders present that day:
- FF/Paramedic Kevin Dillard
- FF/EMT Lt. Brian Garver
- FF/EMT Asst. Chief Matthew Valocchi
- FF/EMT Brian Hughes
In addition, officers from the Tredyffrin Township PD and a paramedic from the former Narberth Ambulance also helped in the successful birth of the twins.
The twins are now freshman in high school.
“We don’t always get to meet those we help, but it is special when we do!” wrote the fire department on the Facebook post.
