WEST UNION, Ill. — An Illinois woman was sentenced Thursday after pleading guilty to a 2010 crash that killed two people, including an EMT.
Dottie Bright had initially been charged with reckless homicide and three counts of aggravated DUI. On Thursday, Bright pleaded guilty to the counts of aggravated DUI. Under a plea agreement, the reckless homicide charge was dropped, according to WTHI.
Bright crashed a truck into an ambulance that killed EMT Richard Poorman and a truck passenger.
The 39-year-old was sentenced to 15 years with the Department of Corrections and given credit for time already served.
