FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. — A woman was arrested after she apparently attacked an emergency medical technician and an Okaloosa County sheriff’s deputy during a confrontation at a restaurant, according to an arrest report.

The Northwest Florida Daily News reports that the deputy was called to Denny’s on Eglin Parkway in Fort Walton Beach on Jan. 15 about the woman, Mary Blanca Webster, 62, of Fort Walton Beach, who said she’d been drinking and wanted to kill herself.

She lost consciousness and required medical attention, so EMTs were called. While they treated her, Webster became combative and struck one of the EMTs in the knee.

She also tried to kick the deputy in the face, the report indicated. She was charged with assault on an officer or firefighter, and battery on an officer or firefighter.
