LEICESTER, England — A paramedic who rushed to a 999 call-out was attacked by a drunk trying to steal his satellite navigation system.
Paramedic Tim Todd was treating a patient in the back of his ambulance when Karl Boyce grabbed the equipment from the front. Mr Todd was punched in the struggle that followed and had to take several days off work.
Today, East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS) described the assault as despicable. The ambulance had gone to Holderness Road, in Mowmacre Hill, Leicester, to attend to a diabetic who was in trouble.
