TUCSON, Ariz. — Police are looking for someone who shot at an ambulance that was taking an elderly man to a hospital.

The shooting happened around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday after Tucson Fire Department paramedics picked up a patient who had chest pains and needed to get to St. Mary’s Hospital, said Capt. Paul McDonough, a Tucson Fire spokesman.

The ambulance driver headed west on Congress Street while another paramedic helped the patient. Just west of Grande Avenue, someone apparently fired at the ambulance, shattering the driver’s-side window, said Sgt. Mark Robinson, a Tucson Police Department spokesman.
