ZANESVILLE, Ohio — A nationwide warrant has been issued for Brian Hatfield’s arrest after the former Harrison Township EMS chief was a no show at his court-mandated appointment, explained Kate Hansen, public information officer for the Ohio Attorney General’s Office.

Hatfield, accused of misspending $500,000 of EMS funds along with six other board members, violated the conditions of his bond by failing to appear. His bond, originally set at $100,000, was reduced to $5,000 in August by Muskingum County Common Pleas Judge Kelly Cottrill. Hatfield posted bond with the assistance of a private bond company.

The 39-year-old faces a prison sentence of up to 25 years if convicted on all charges, which include money laundering, engaging in a pattern of corruption and four counts of theft.
