Md. ambulance crew discovers latest patient was missing person

Recognized online photo as a patient they had just transported

BELTSVILLE, Md. — An alert ambulance crew helped police locate a missing person Monday.

Ambulance 831 from the Beltsville Fire/EMS Station was dispatched to an intersection following reports of sick person, where the crew assessed the 70-year-old patient and determined that he required hospitalization.

The crew transported the man to a nearby medical facility.

Once they had returned to quarters, one of the crew members came across a photo and story while reading a news website about a missing person. The photo was immediately identified as the man the crew had just transported to the hospital, the source stated.

The ambulance crew notified Public Safety Communications, who in turn notified the County Police. Later that evening, police officers confirmed that the missing person and the patient were indeed the same.
