NEW YORK — Authorities say four people, including a toddler, have been slashed or stabbed on a bike path next to the Hudson River in New York City.
Police say a suspect is in custody.
Police say all of the victims are expected to survive, though a woman in her 30s is in critical condition. The youngest victim is about 2 years old.
They are investigating whether there may have been a fifth victim.
The assault occurred around 8 a.m. Tuesday in Manhattan near West 59th Street.
Yellow police tape and park department security guards prevented anyone from gaining access to the path for a 20-block stretch while police investigated.
