LEHIGH VALLEY, Pa. — After allegedly spitting blood at both police and a paramedic, a homeless man was charged with aggravated assault.

Shaun Michael Cowell spit blood at police and a paramedic at the scene of a motorcycle crash on May 31, according to The Morning Call.

Cowell had blood on his face, arms and hands and was trying to pick up his motorcycle.

After Cowell was told paramedics were on their way and to sit down, he said he was going to leave and began swearing. Police said he smelled strongly of alcohol.

He became “very aggressive” and fought with police who told him he was not allowed to leave the area.

Then Cowell spit blood at the responders, striking both in the face and eyes, the article said.

At the hospital, a small baggie of marijuana was found in Cowell’s boot.
