Ky. service suspends arrested EMT charged with cocaine trafficking

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville Metro Emergency Medical Services has placed Charlita Denise Johnson on unpaid administrative leave pending an investigation and disciplinary action, following a police operation last night that resulted in her arrest.

Louisville Metro Police are charging Johnson with trafficking a controlled substance and tampering with physical evidence. Johnson was not on duty at the time of the arrest. Johnson has been a Louisville emergency-medical technician (EMT) since May 2005.

“Our men and women are held to high professional, medical and personal standards, and this service will not tolerate inappropriate behavior of any kind amongst our employees,” said Col. Everett Scott, EMS director of operations. ...
