MIDDLETOWN, Ind. — A town ambulance driver leaving his house to respond to an emergency call slipped on ice, hit his head and died, authorities said.
Jeremy Rodecap, 29, of Middletown, was discovered dead outside his home in the town 15 miles southwest of Muncie late Saturday night or early Sunday morning, authorities said.
Middletown EMS Chief Phil Chandler said emergency crews had been dispatched to an accident about 9:15 p.m. Saturday. Moments later, they were told to disregard the call because there were no injuries.
