BRUNSWICK, Ga. — An ambulance company dispatcher has been charged with impersonating a Glynn County Fire Department emergency medical technician.

Benjamin Stan Taylor, 25, of Brunswick was arrested Friday on charges of impersonating a public officer/employee and theft by receiving stolen property, said Capt. Marissa Tindale of the Glynn County Police Department.

Taylor remained jailed on $12,523 bail Monday at the Glynn County Detention Center, records showed.

Police took Taylor into custody without incident about 3 p.m. Friday while he was on the job at Hart Land Ambulance in Brunswick, she said.

He is accused of representing himself as a Glynn fire department EMT to Brunswick police at the scene of a traffic accident on Gloucester Street a couple of months ago.

“There are no reports of any deaths or injuries occurring as a result of [Taylor’s] impersonation,” Tindale said.

Taylor also is accused of having a portable radio battery, valued at $70, belonging to the fire department, she said.

The investigation is ongoing.
