25 complete EMT Program in Penn.

The first graduates of the Lancaster General College of Nursing & Health Sciences and Lancaster EMS Emergency Medical Technician Program received their certificates of completion June 1 at Lancaster General College.

The 25 students completed 210 hours of classroom instruction and clinical field experience and sat for the Department of Health examination in early June to complete their certification process as emergency medical technicians.

Those receiving certificates of completion are: John Blank, Strasburg; Abby Brubaker, Lancaster; Alexis Byrd, Lancaster; Elaine Chrissos, Holtwood; Joshua Dishart, Lancaster; Tanya Eimerbrink, Lewisberry; Amelia Forney, Lancaster; Heather Gilroy, Christiana; Brian Heffner, Orwigsburg; Heather Hill, Lancaster; Laura Hollenbach, Strasburg; Lisa Jenco, Mountville; Naomi Johnson, Lancaster; Gary Kunkle, Brownstown; Patrick Loftus, Quarryville; Linnea Martin, Lititz; Amanda Odenwalt, Willow Street; Kaitlin Opilo, Lancaster; Whitney Rossi, Lititz; Karen Runkle, Holtwood; Kristin Sauder, Lancaster; Colleen Stewart, Lancaster; Norma Thompson, Lancaster; Sheila Weitzel, Lancaster; and Rachel Winters, Strasburg.

The EMT Program is offered twice a year beginning in January and August on the campus of Lancaster General College and the Lancaster County Public Safety Training Center. At the completion of the course, participants receive a certificate of participation and are eligible to take the state and national EMT certification exams.
