GOODING, Idaho — Gooding County EMS providers are now able to better respond to their growing call volume after the department received its paramedic license through the Idaho State Department of Health and Welfare.
KMVT reported that with the upgraded status, the agency will be able to respond and provide more life-saving services.
“We were intermediate life support,” Gooding EMS Paramedic Director Barbara Porter said. “We had four to five people go through the paramedic program at the College of Southern Idaho to help us bring our system up to a higher level of care.”
In addition to the paramedic certifications, the agency will be moving into their own facility, moving from their current location inside the city’s Planning and Zoning building.
