CHICAGO — A Chicago Fire Department paramedic was taken to an area hospital after the ambulance he was driving in was hit by a vehicle.
The CFD ambulance was transporting a patient when the crash occurred, The Chicago Sun Times reported.
Police said the driver of the vehicle then fled the scene.
The paramedic was taken to Rush University Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, and the patient was transported to Stroger Hospital.
