GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. — Five ambulances that were traveling to aid in Hurricane Florence efforts were involved in a crash on the highway.
WSPA reported that four ambulances slowed their speed in traffic when a fifth ambulance rear-ended the fourth rig, resulting in a chain reaction, according to South Carolina Highway Patrol Trooper Jo Hovis.
Hovis said the EMS provider who was driving the fourth ambulance was transported to the hospital with minor injuries, and four of the ambulances were towed from the scene.
The ambulances were driving from Atlanta, according to Hovis, but an Ambulance Service PIO said the responders did not have an exact destination.
