MONROE, La. — A woman faces multiple charges after allegedly stealing an ambulance from a Ouachita Parish hospital and leading multiple agencies on a high-speed chase that ended south of Wisner on Friday, the Franklin Sun reported.

The rig was seen moving at 65 mph in a 40-mph zone and at one point ran over a concrete embankment. On La. Hwy 165, the rig was going 80 mph in a 50 mph zone, and on I-20 East, it went about 100 mph.

The ambulance hit one of the vehicles in pursuit, and a rolling roadblock brought the chase to an end.

Whitney Paige Turner, 27, was charged with introduction of contraband into a penal institute, possession of Schedule I, operating an ambulance without a license, aggravated flight from an officer, and theft of a motor vehicle.
