CARROLL COUNTY, Ga. — An EMT for West Georgia Ambulance Service has been charged with sexually assaulting a 17-year-old patient in an ambulance.

FOX 5 reported Morris Jumorris Singleton, 28, was accused in November after the teenager said Singleton touched her backside while she was being transported to a hospital in Villa Rica.

Carrol County investigators said some level of physical contact is expected when treating someone, but the details of this case show that the act was intentional and “against her (the teenager’s) will.”

“Due to this offense occurring during medical treatment, most of the information surrounding the alleged incident is confidential,” Capt. Jeff Richards of the Carroll County Sheriff’s Department told the Times-Georgian.

Singleton has been employed with West Georgia Ambulance Service for four years. The agency’s director of operations said it is “fully cooperating with the sheriff’s investigation and hoping for the best.”

Singleton was arrested Tuesday and appeared in court Wednesday. He was given a $15,000 bond and was ordered by the judge to stay away from all hospitals until the case is resolved.
