NORTH HUNTINGTON, Pa. — A North Huntingdon man faces a preliminary hearing Thursday on allegations he spat blood into the face of a paramedic trying to help him.
Joshua James Brisson, 25, of 3335 Old Spring Road, Ardara, will appear before Greensburg District Judge James Albert on charges of aggravated harassment by a prisoner, aggravated assault and public drunkenness.
Greensburg police allege that Brisson spat into the face of the Mutual Aid worker about 10 p.m. Sept. 28.
In an arrest warrant affidavit, police said Brisson was lying on Southwest Avenue after being assaulted. An intoxicated Brisson, who had a bloody mouth and cuts on his face, requested medical treatment, police said.
After help arrived, Brisson gave ambulance personnel a “hard time” and “started making comments about fighting them when he gets free,” the affidavit said. “Brisson then spat blood all over the face” of a paramedic.
While taking Brisson in an ambulance to Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, that paramedic was forced to hold Brisson’s hands down several times, said police, who followed the ambulance.
“Brisson would then break free, and it appeared that he was attempting to strike (the paramedic),” the affidavit said. “Once at the hospital, Brisson was taken to his room, where he was combative with hospital staff the entire time.”
Brisson was jailed in lieu of $15,000 bond.
