CHARLES COUNTY, Md. — A Hughesville Volunteer Fire Department firefighter-EMT was killed in a car crash on Sunday night.
NBC 4 reported that Kyle Joseph Compton was driving when his car veered off the road and struck several trees. According to police officers, Compton was extricated from his vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
Compton will be missed by his fellow firefighters, a release from HVFD said.
“His sense of humor and presence will be missed by everyone around the station,” the release read. “Please keep Kyle’s family and friends in your thoughts and prayers. Rest in peace, Kyle.”
The crash is under investigation.
