BRYAN COUNTY, Okla. — Bryan County EMS is mourning the sudden death of paramedic Mindi Welch, the agency announced in a social media post.

Welch worked for Bryan County EMS for eight years and is survived by two young children, KTEN reported.

In a tribute on social media, the agency wrote that Welch had been with the department since 2018 and made an impact that went beyond being a paramedic. Known for being stubborn “in a way that mattered,” Welch would not give up on a patient and would not back down from doing what she believed was right. Her patients loved her, trusted her and knew they were in good hands.

The Bryan County Medics Association is collecting funds to support Welch’s family.
